In our Under-Six program, we start to lay the foundation for youth players as they begin playing competitive soccer. Our volunteer coaches emphasize fundamentals and having fun. Our coed teams play 3v3 on a small field to guarantee active play.

Our club philosophy – especially at this age – is to make sure the kids have fun. At TYSA, we don’t run drills – we play games! By utilizing basic soccer games that develop specific dribbling and footwork skills, your child will develop the technique they’ll need for a lifetime of soccer fun. We don’t believe in standing in lines, running laps or boring lectures. We believe – and research has shown – that kids learn more about the game with a ball on their foot, and we work hard to ensure that each child gets as much time on the ball as possible.

Our teams are made up of six kids, aged 4-6, who practice for one hour, one night per week. TYSA runs one of the largest soccer programs in the state, so there’s always a team that works with your schedule. Every Saturday, our teams play small sided 3x3 games at Henderson Park – uniforms and all. These games last about an hour - nobody keeps score, and we all work hard to keep the games evenly matched.

Perhaps most importantly for our youngest players, we play in four divisions within the age group. The youngest kids play against the youngest kids, and the oldest against the oldest and best. By building each of our teams with kids of the same age and experience level, we’re able to ensure competitive play and a good time for everyone.
