SPRING 2017 INFORMATION
REGISTRATION OPENS NOVMEBER 1
TYSA is expecting another outstanding year of friendship, fitness & fun on
our fields at Henderson Park. We're looking forward to seeing all of the TYSA family
back on the fields this season.
If you're new to the club, welcome! TYSA is one of the largest, oldest & strongest soccer clubs
in Georgia. These are just a few of the programs we are offering this spring:
Our TINY TYKES Program is for 3-year-olds who can't wait to get out there and start kicking the ball around the soccer field! Fee includes registration, capital improvement fee, Tiny Tykes t-shirt and a size 3 ball. Sessions begin March 11 and end April 29. (No sessions on April 1 or April 8). Fee: $90 (includes ball and T-shirt). Tiny Tykes is offered on Saturdays at 9:00, 9:30, 10:00 and 10:30.
This season, we will be separating our Under-5 and Under-6 programs which are a great entry point for children new to sports. At the U5/6 level, we lay the foundation for youth players as they being playing competitive soccer. All the emphasis is on fundamentals and having fun. TYSA traditionally fields 30+ teams, coached by a well-trained TYSA volunteer. Practices last for one hour, one night per week, with games on Saturdays. Nobody keeps score, and everybody wins.
Our U-5 and U-6 (coed) practices begin the week of March 6 with the first game scheduled for March 11. There will be no games on April 1 or 8 and the season will wrap up on May 6.
The fee for the season is $120.
Our Under-Eight program is a great way for any kid to learn the game. Our coaches build on the fundamentals taught in the U6 program, while introducing concepts such as passing, teamwork and penalties. Games are played 5v5 on a larger field, with separate leagues for boys & girls. Teams practice two nights a week for one hour in the evenings, with games being played on Saturdays at Henderson Park.
Our Under-Eight practices begin the week of February 20, and the first game is scheduled for March 4. There will be no games on April 1 or 8 and the season will wrap up on May 6. Fees for the season are $155.
Our Under-Ten and Under-Twelve programs allow our players to transition from small-sided ball to the larger game. Our players continue to develop their skills by playing on larger fields with more players. Our U10 teams play 6v6 with goalkeepers, while our U12 plays 8v8. From a coaching perspective, the focus shifts from individual play to teaching the kids how to work as part of a team. Practices are held twice per week, with games being played on Saturdays.
Under-Ten and Under-Twelve practices begin the week of February 20, and the first game is scheduled for March 4. There will be no games on April 1 or 8 and the season will wrap up on May 6.
Fees for the season are $160.
Our Under-Fourteen, Under-Sixteen and Under-Nineteen teams play 11 v 11 on a full sized field, and the skills our players have developed truly begin to shine. All of the elements of the game come into play as our kids come into their own as players. Practices are held twice per week - usually later in the evening than practices for our younger players. These teams inter-schedule with other clubs in the area, and games are played both home and away during the season.
Practices begin the week of February 20, and the first game is scheduled for March 4. There will be no games on April 1 and 8 and the season will wrap up on March 7. Fees for the season are $165.
TOP SOCCER (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a community-based soccer training program for young athletes with disabilities. The program is open to all kids with any type of physical or mental disability between the ages of 6 and 18. The dates for the six-week session will be announced shortly. Fee: $25
