SPRING 2015 INFORMATION
This spring, TYSA is expecting another outstanding year of friendship, fitness & fun on
our fields at Henderson Park. We're looking forward to seeing ALL of the TYSA family
back on the fields this season for what promises to be a very special year for our club.
If you're new to the club, welcome! TYSA is one of the largest, oldest & strongest soccer clubs
in Georgia. To lean more about any of our programs, click the OUR PROGRAMS link above.
These are just a few of the programs we are offering this spring:
Our TINY TYKES Program is for 3-year-olds who can't wait to get out there and start kicking the ball around the soccer field! Fee includes registration, capital improvement fee, Tiny Tykes t-shirt and a size 3 ball. Sessions begin March 14 and end May 2. (No sessions on April 4 and 11). Fee: $90 (includes ball and T-shirt). Tiny Tykes is offered on Saturdays at 9:30, 10:00, 10:30, 11:00 and 11:30.
Our UNDER-SIX Program is a great entry point for children new to sports. At the U6 level, we lay the foundation for youth players as they being playing competitive soccer. All the emphasis is on fundamentals and having fun. TYSA traditionally fields 40+ teams of six kids each, coached by a well-trained TYSA volunteer. Practices last for one hour, one night per week, with a game every Saturday. Nobody keeps score, and everybody wins.
Our U-6 (coed) practices begin the week of March 9 with the first game scheduled for March 14. The fee for the season is $120.
Our Under-Eight program is a great way for any kid to learn the game. Our coaches build on the fundamentals taught in the U6 program, while introducing concepts such as passing, teamwork, penalties and goalkeeping. Games are played 5v5 on a larger field, with separate leagues for boys & girls. Teams practice two nights a week for one hour in the evenings, with games being played on Saturdays at Henderson Park.
Our Under-Eight practices begin the week of February 23, and the first game is scheduled for March 7th. To cover referee expenses, our fees for the season increase to $155.
Our Under-Ten and Under-Twelve programs allow our players to transition from small-sided ball to the larger game. Our players continue to develop their skills by playing on larger fields with more players. Our U10 teams play 6v6 with goalkeepers, while our U12 plays 8v8. From a coaching perspective, the focus shifts from individual play to teaching the kids how to work as part of a team. Practices are held twice per week, with games being played on Saturday or Sunday.
Under-Ten and Under-Twelve practices begin the week of February 23, and the first game is scheduled for March 7th. Fees for the season are $160.
Our Under-Fourteen, Under-Sixteen and Under-Nineteen teams play 11 v 11 on a full sized field, and the skills our players have developed truly begin to shine. All of the elements of the game come into play as our kids come into their own as players. Practices are held twice per week - usually later in the evening than practices for our younger players. These teams interschedule with other clubs in the area, and games are played both home and away during the season.
Practices begin the week of February 23, and the first game is scheduled for March 7th. Fees for the season are $165.
TOP SOCCER (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a community-based soccer training program for young athletes with disabilities. The program is open to all kids with any type of physical or mental disability between the ages of 6 and 18. The six-week session will begin on March 15 and continue through April 26 (no games on April 4 or 11). Fee: $25
Recreational divisions are based on two-year spans. U-6 is for ages 4 and 5, U-8 is for ages 6 and 7, etc.
