TYSA Academy Junior Program
What is Academy Junior?
The Academy Junior program bridges the gap between the TYSA Recreational Program and the TYSA Academy Program. The program provides additional challenges in a more structured soccer environment. It is intended for players in the U5 – U8 age groups who possess good basic soccer skills and desire to excel.
The Academy Junior program replaces the Recreational Program for U6 – U8 players. They train once a week with an Academy Junior staff coach. All matches are played within the Academy Junior structure, with a parent coach selected for weekend games.
TYSA’s target numbers for the pilot program are 25 players for the U5/U6 age group and 35 players for the U7/U8 age group.
Who Can Participate
Any player in the U5 to U8 age groups whose birth date falls within the specified time periods is eligible to play. To verify your child’s eligibility, please click on the Age Group Chart. If you would like more information about the Academy Junior program, please email Warren van der Westhuizen.
