Academy in Training
Academy in Training (AIT) is a specialized training program for U6, U8, and U10 players. AIT is designed for players to experience the Academy format at an earlier age. The goal is to find those players who love the game, are excelling at an early age, and fast-track these players into the Academy program.
For those who are not familiar with the Academy Program, the focus is on developing the basic soccer techniques and skills. The majority of the time is spent with one player and one soccer ball, allowing maximum touches and time on the ball. It is an environment that is centered around player development, and focuses on getting each player comfortable and confident with the soccer ball in all facets of the game.
Academy in Training (AIT) is designed and administered by our Recreation Director of Coaching, Daniel dos Santos. TYSA Select staff coaches assist him in the training sessions.
The Friday training sessions are from 6:00pm – 7:30pm on Field 3 at Henderson Park. In this hour and a half we plan to spend 45 – 60 minutes on basic technical skill development, while incorporating a fun, and competitive environment that is productive for the age level we are targeting. We plan to hold small-sided games in the last 30 – 45 minutes for a more competitive environment than the players experience in their current Recreational games.
There is a $50 fee that covers the 6 training dates, and includes an AIT t-shirt. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with our Recreation Director of Coaching.
