FC Utrecht North American Academy
On February 1st, 2012, FC Utrecht of the Dutch Eredivisie agreed to a partnership with the Tucker Youth Soccer Association (TYSA)
The FC Utrecht club, in Utrecht, Netherlands, is one of the prestigious youth programs for both boys and girls. The partnership with FC Utrecht sets TYSA apart from the rest of the youth academy soccer programs in the USA. Enhancements to the TYSA academy and select programs include:
- Training Programs for players by FC Utrecht Professional Coaches
- Coaching Classes for coaches by FC Utrecht Professional Coaches
- European Experience for TYSA Players and Staff
- Opportunity to Play Professional Soccer
The first programs start in the 2012 Spring Season for our academy and select programs. These include:
- 2 keeper sessions instead of one to focus more on goalkeepers
- Adding Coerver training on Monday/Tuesday practice sessions
- First 30 minutes of training sessions to focus on technical aspects including futsal on Wednesday/Thursday practice sessions.
- The Injury Prevention Program to educate players on how to play injury free, reducing the chances of an ACL or other career ending injuries
These are a few small programs that will have a huge impact on all teams at TYSA.
TYSA coaches and players will have the opportunity to work with the Academy coaches of FC Utrecht in both North America and the Netherlands, offering an insight into the player development program of one of the top Dutch Soccer Academies.
This agreement is in line with the new Player Development Program started in 2012, and allows the elite TYSA players an opportunity to further their career and dreams. Per the agreement FC Utrecht North American Academy will host a series of Elite Player ID Training Camps with CSA Impact during 2012. FC Utrecht will send Academy staff coaches from Holland to work with the TYSA players. The best players identified at these training camps will be invited to travel to the Holland and train with FC Utrecht’s main Academy boys and girls. TYSA will have an opportunity to take over 16 of our elite players to Holland from July 20 – 29, 2012. Players will practice with the FC Utrecht players and play against other Dutch clubs.
