Friends of TYSA Foundation

The Friends of TYSA Foundation is the fundraising arm of the Tucker Youth Soccer Association, a 501 (c)(3) tax exempt organization. The foundation is dedicated to raising funds that support the future of youth soccer in DeKalb County by securing and developing field space and facilities, expanding the programs that are currently available to all age levels, and providing opportunities for players of all skill levels.
 
The immediate objectives of the Friends of TYSA Foundation are:

 

1. Raise $200,000 for the improvement of Granite-Pattillo Park with a new clubhouse and concession stand, a covered pavilion, indoor restrooms and additional parking. Please click here for Site Plan.

2. Raise $50,000 for our Scholarship Fund to support children from families with significant financial need.

 

Granite-Pattillo Park is located near the intersection of Hugh Howell Rd and Stone Mountain Industrial Blvd. TYSA has leased this property for many years and committed significant resources to develop the facility with soccer fields, an irrigation system and lights. Through the TYSA Capital Improvement Fund, we were able to raise over $200,000 as a down payment and we successfully purchased the property on August 5, 2010! We need to raise an additional $200,000 in order to reduce our mortgage debt and improve the property.

 

Currently, over 225 players practice and play their home games at Granite-Pattillo Park and we expect 400 players to use the facility in the next several years as TYSA continues to grow. We do not have field space available at Henderson Park to accommodate the needs of our full membership. TYSA committed $50,000 in scholarships and waived registration fees last year. TYSA does not currently have the resources to sustain this level of financial aid. We need to raise $50,000 in order support children from families with significant financial need.

 

We live in very difficult economic times and many children will not have the opportunity to play soccer without financial aid. Therefore, the Foundation asks for your generous help with Granite-Pattillo Park and our Scholarship Fund. All donations are tax deductible, and your generosity will be recognized to the TYSA membership. Please note that we also need additional members to join the Foundation Board of Directors.
