   RULES FOR TYSA IN-HOUSE RECREATIONAL TOURNAMENT

GAME LENGTH

U8  (4 X 12 1/2 minutes )

U10 and U12 (4 x 15 minutes)

SUBSTITUTIONS

All normal TYSA substitutions are in effect.  All players must play ½ of each half and no player may play a full game until each player has played ¾ of a game.

At the U10 level, any amount of time spent as goal keeper must be matched by time on the field.

U8 SPECIFIC RULES

  1. U8 teams may not use goal keepers
  2. There will be no throw ins, all out balls that would be normally thrown in, will be restarted with a kick in from the spot the ball went out.
  3. Player must be over shot line before taking a shot on goal
  4. All free kicks are indirect kicks and therefore must be touched by a second player before entering the goal.

SCORING

Keeping Score

Each team will be responsible for providing a game card to the referee before the start of each game. Either make your own game card or collect it from the Concession Stand. The referee will tally the scores and give the game card back to the coaches at the end of the game. The coach will then be responsible for reporting the scores, in writing to Warren, who will keep track of the standings. If the scores for each game do not match - Warren will handle it .

U8 Only:      Win =  7 points

                     Tie   =  3 points

                     Loss =  0 points

Each Goal up to five goals = 1 point (win or lose the points for goals count)

Tie Breakers:

  1. Head to head competition (applies only if two teams are tied)
  2. Most goals scored (maximum goals = 7 goals/game)
  3. Shoot out (all team players are eligible)

U10 and U12: Win = 3 points

                        Tie   = 1 point

                        Loss = 0 points

Tie Breakers:

  1. Head to head competition (applies only if two teams are tied)
  2. Fewest goals allowed
  3. Net goal differential (maximum plus or minus 3 per game…e.g. in a 7 to 3 game the winner has a +3 goal differential, the loser has a -3 goal differential)
  4. Most goals scored (maximum 3 per game)
  5. Shoot out (All team players eligible)

Shoot outs to break ties:  The winner will be determined by penalty kicks among players on the field at the end of the regular game.  Five rounds of penalty kicks will be taken to determine a winner.  Additional sudden death penalty kicks in pairs will resolve a tie existing after five rounds.  No player may kick twice until every other teammate on the field, including the goalkeeper (in U10 and U12), has kicked one.  In the U8 division, the shoot out will take place from 12 yards out, just as with the older teams, only there will be no goalkeepers to protect the goal.

Shoot outs will only be utilized in the semi-final or championship games.

AWARDS:  Individual trophies will be awarded to the championship and runner-up teams in each group and division in which finals are played.

PROTESTS:  There will be no protests.
