Hong played soccer for several clubs around Atlanta growing up, including DDY United Select, ASA Wolves, Concorde Select, Nike Express traveling tournament team and the ODP Regional Pool. He also played on this Varsity teams from 9-12 grade at Lakeside High School. He played for his college, Brewton-Parker, on a full four-year scholarship. After college, he took a position at Lakeside as Head Coach for the JV Boys and Assistant Coach for both Girls and Boys Varsity). Since then, he has been coaching at clubs around Atlanta including, AYSA, GOLsa, InterAtlanta FC and TYSA for 17 years.
