Sanitago was born in Medellín, Colombia, where he grew up playing soccer every night in the streets. When he moved to the United States, he joined GFC, currently known as Steamers FC.  Santiago also played for Berkmar High School on both the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams. 

Santiago started coaching in 2014. Since then he has coached for UFA Norcross Atlanta Eagles, UFA Lawrenceville, and Meadowcreek High School (JV Head Coach).  Santiago joined TYSA in August of 2018.  He has coached different age groups from U-9 to U-18 both boys and girls.  He earned m USSF C license in 2016 and also completed his USSF B license in the fall of 2019.
